[jdom-interest] Build script / config concerns ....

I am a new user to jdom and plan to use jdom no our solaris 2.5.1 machine.
I've exported the jdom directory from cvs and am ready to try a build.
However,  I noticed that the build script includes a dev.jar file.  Where
can I get dev.jar ?   Also, due to project specifications I may have to
use jdk 1.1.6, will the latest and greatest jdom compile with this
version of jdk?  
Any word on when the jdom automatic build will be ready?
