Fair enough, we must agree to disagree.  I don't like lots of lines of 
imports either, but you do get to see /exactly/ what the dependencies are.

DefaultJDOMFactory, JDOMFactory and ElementFilter have redundant * 
imports. You could save a few more lines ;-)
